A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Nominated for a DORA Award.
Mainstage production. Limited Return Run. May 9 – 20, 2011.

Our original, entertaining and lively presentation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece is back by popular demand!
Four young lovers escape to the woods, only to be embroiled in the warring world of the fairies. Add a sidesplitting troupe of wanna-be actors, a donkey and one unforgettable midsummer night, and you have the perfect recipe for magic, mischief and mayhem.
Our highly physical production makes compelling theatre for audiences of all ages, featuring giant puppets, shadow play, dance and acrobatics. Seven versatile, professional actors adopt multiple roles, and our unique rehearsal process activates Shakespeare’s language. Our production will help young audiences break through the Elizabethan language barrier to better understand and appreciate the play.
See the show before or after studying the play, and complete your field trip with a workshop based on Shakespeare’s language. Workshops can be taken in the morning or afternoon at our on-site location. Students work directly with our professional team of actor/teachers to discover physical dimensions of the text, investigating rhythm, tone, meter and the imagistic nature of Shakespeare’s language. We provide teachers with a comprehensive resource pack and study plan to help you integrate and extend our work into your classroom.

Testimonials:
"I can't tell you how impressed I was by the depth of talent among the actors, as well as top-drawer direction. The play was truly magical- my teenaged students' eyes light up when they talk about how Puck seemed to be lighter than air, and discuss all their favourite characters and moments".
"Thank you for putting together such a wonderful performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. I have seen many productions of the Dream and I didn't know what to expect when I brought my students to your show. I was astounded by the brilliance of the performance and I truly believe it was the best one I have ever seen!"
"Our ESL kids studying the play found that the animated production helped with their understanding".
"I want to congratulate you on a great show. It was fun, exciting, and fantastically charming. It was so refreshing and from my point of view- so much needed by Toronto's performing world!"
"Other productions are just not affordable for our students. Many of my students are in public housing and the fact we could take the TTC and pay under $20 made the trip possible"
