Our Summer Camps have delighted kids around Toronto for over a decade. Your child will not only have fun at drama camp but also develop literacy skills, skills in acting and performance, gain self-confidence and make new friends.
For our Young Company Theatre Camp for Teens check out Shakespeare for teens.
- Focus Play: The Tempest
- Ages: 7-12
- Dates: July 2-12, 2013
- Location: Shakespeare in Action, 385 Roxton Rd., Toronto.
Focus Play 2013: The Tempest
Ariel, Caliban and Prospero take campers on a magical adventure through Shakespeare’s last play.
- Work with a professional actor,
- Act, sing, improvise, design sets and costumes,
- Build confidence,
- Make new friends, and
- Step into the spotlight!
Choose one of two summer camp streams for your child based on your child’s comfort level with reading, memorization and presentation. See assessment passage below.
- Group TANNERS – for kids with a high comfort level - they perform the whole play (well almost.)
- Group GLOVERS – for all kids who feel more comfortable performing a few scenes. Not as much memorization.

The following except was selected to help you choose the right stream for your child. Have your child read the selection out loud and then decide their stream based on his/her performance:
Ye elves of hills, brooks, standing lakes and groves, And ye that on the sands with printless foot Do chase the ebbing Neptune and do fly him When he comes back...I have bedimm'd The noontide sun, call'd forth the mutinous winds, And 'twixt the green sea and the azured vault Set roaring war:
Shakespeare in Action reserves the right to adjust child’s placement based on program director’s assessment.
