Shakespeare For Kids Summer Camps!
Our Shakespeare Summer Camps have delighted kids for over a decade. Each year, over 100 young people discover the magic of Shakespeare’s stories. They develop critical literacy skills, skills in acting and performance, and gain self-confidence. In 2012, our camps will be held at the following locations:
- Annex, Harbord & Shaw (Ages 7 – 12): July 3 - 14, 2012
Shakespeare in Action Studios, Central Commerce Collegiate Institute, 385 Roxton Rd, Toronto. - Etobicoke/Bloor West (Ages 7 – 12): July 16-27, 2012.
Swansea Town Hall, 95 Lavinia Ave, Toronto.

Kids learn to act, sing, improvise, construct costumes, build puppets and design sets. The program runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily, Monday to Friday for two weeks. We provide the participants with master class level instruction delivered by highly skilled professional artists, working in discrete areas of theatre disciplines.
Theatre Ritual:
Engaging young people in the art of presentation and storytelling is an invigorating exercise that fosters literacy, promotes self-confidence and engenders well-being. By linking the participatory elements of music, voice, movement, set and costume design to the process, we are taking these young children on a journey to discover the rituals of creating live theatre. Each company presents a final production of an abridged Shakespeare play. Parents, extended family, and members of the community are invited to attend. It could be the launching pad for a Canadian actor, writer, set designer or theatre impresario!
