Come polish your acting skills and put on a fun winter show!

Do your kids love theatre summer camp? Do they wish it lasted longer than just the summer? Or maybe they want to try acting for the first time? Well then come on over to SIA to join us for our brand new Act NOW! program. Inspired by our extremely successful summer camp and driven by a demand for more theatre-based programming throughout the year in Weston, Act NOW! is a program that:

  • Develops creativity
  • Strengthens communication skills
  • Hones acting skills in young children while remaining fun!

In this program will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-5:30pm to polish their acting skills and rehearse The Ice Queen. They will then meet on the 10th of December for a Dress Rehearsal followed by 2 public showings on the 11th and 12th of December, respectively, at the Rockport Hall in the Artscape Weston Common. Each student enrolled in the programme will receive two tickets to a show as part of their enrolment to be shared with family/friends.

Times:

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm – 5:30pm
Dress Rehearsal : Dec 10th (4pm – 9pm)
Performances : Dec 11th and 12th (6pm -9pm)

Cost: $600 per child for the full programme

Tamara Freeman

Tamara Freeman is super blessed to be the Associate Managing Producer at Shakespeare in Action. Since graduating from the Acting for Film and Television program at Humber College, she has worked professionally in both Toronto and Ottawa performing on stage, in recording studios and on-set. Freeman is extremely excited to be leading the Act NOW program with Shakespeare in Action as an Artist-Educator. Select stage credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare in Action), A Midsummer Night’s Dream & Twelfth Night (A Company of Fools), Miss Shakespeare (Three Sisters Company) and A Christmas Carol (Soup Can Theatre). Voice over credits include: Hailey and the Hero Hearts (Hero Hearts Production Inc.), Barbie Ride ’N Style & Fashion Fun for Everyone (Mattel) and Elinor Wonders Why (PBS).

Refund Policy and Cancellation:

Registrants may cancel their registration up to two weeks before the classes begin. Cancellation requests must be delivered in writing via email to education@shakespeareinaction.org. The fee will be refunded less a $25 administration fee (Please note, the PayPal processing fee is also non-refundable).

Cancellation requests within two weeks of the class start date, or after the classes have commenced are not eligible for refunds.

Shakespeare In Action reserves the right to cancel entire course due to low enrolment. In that case, all participants will be fully refunded.

As Shakespeare In Action employs professional working actors, we reserve the right engage substitute instructors when necessary.

In the event of inclement weather or another emergency, Shakespeare In Action will make all attempts to contact parents/guardians at least one hour prior to the beginning of the class in order to inform them of any change.

Covid-19 Safety Policy

The following protocols will be implemented to keep campers and staff safe during our Fall 2021 programming:

  • Each session is limited to a maximum of 12 campers
  • All staff and campers must properly wear approved masks at all times except when eating or drinking. Staff members will also wear face shields
  • Frequent hand-washing and sanitizing will be enforced
  • Eating and drinking must be socially distanced
  • If possible, programming will occur outdoors in order to ensure ideal air quality. Alternate indoor facilities are available in case of inclement weather
